Silhouette Assignment

This assignment required me to take pictures of subjects being silhouetted behind a bright object (sun, flashlight, etc.). I particularly enjoyed this assignment since, during the week or so that I shot, the weather was surprisingly sunny. I took most of my pictures of a human subject, but there are a couple pictures where I feature objects instead of humans.

Hawaii Magazine Assignment

Mr. Mitchell knew that some of us were traveling during mid-winter break, so he gave us the "magazine" assignment. Basically, wherever you went on spring break, you would take pictures that could potentially be put into a magazine, advertising the area. Well, as luck would have it, I was going to Hawaii! So sit back, scroll through the pictures, and fight the urge to immediately book plane tickets to The Big Island.

Shutter Speed Assignment

The shutter speed assignment was, for me, the most difficult assignment of the year. This required me to handle a totally foreign camera (since my camera didn't have the shutter speed option), and go venture outside of my comfort zone. "What constitutes as out of your comfort zone?" you might ask. Well, taking pictures in the dark on the side of the road with cars passing left and right might count. However, as well as difficult, this was also the most fun I've ever had with taking pictures. What I did was turn the shutter of the camera to around 10 or 15 seconds, which means the camera would allow light in for that amount of time, yielding some pretty interesting results...
